I have been hunting best OS for BlackBerry Z10, especially for good battery life. What is I mean, good battery life for this smart phone. 10 - 12 hours usage duration on moderate use will be make me Happy, I do not expect a phone like BlackBerry Z10 device will stand whole 24 hours for battery, recharging once a day is fully acceptable. When I was on Not Smart Phone time, my Phillips Xenium need recharging Twice a Week , it was a history, dunno when the history will back on today smart phone era. On 29th August 2013, Crackberry site presented 10.0.2.0.1445 Leaks 10 OS. I grabbed and flashed to Z10 device
Well, 10.2.0.1445 is clearly stated for developer, Not suggested for daily use. After reading carefully, it was named Cripped OS, mean No Social APPS :-) ... I did not need any social apps. First day using 10.2.0.1445 device can stand for 7 hours. with very modest set up :
- OFF FEATURE : Nfc, Bluetooth, VPN, Wifi
- Wireless Network state : 3G and 2G auto
- BBM : 156 contacts, 2 groups active, 4 groups passive
- Google contact sync : Manual, 2074 contacts
- Google Mail sync : Manual, one account
- Texting : 3 -6 a day
- Voice Call : 3-5 time @ 2-3 minutes I have been applying Battery Pull Legend, Security wipe after update. Battery Pull Legend is to pull battery and let is stay pulled out for 1.5 hours after battery died, before recharging.
Third day usage I can stand 8 hours. Now getting better :-)) ... I decided to reinstall 10.0.2.1445 with different ceremony :
- Full Charge battery to 100%
- Security wipe > let the device in OFF state
- Open autoloader on PC (win 7 x86-64), run as administrator
- When terminal screen showing .... Connect to bootrom... Pull out battery
- CONNECT DEVICE TO PC VIA USB PORT WITHOUT BATTERY INSERTED
- Update process
- FINISHED .... device will not reboot
- Insert Battery without SIM card inserted
- Device Reboot
